In recent developments, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has, among other things, called for fewer childhood vaccinations, established an NIH Center on Vaccine Harms, altered CDC measles data amid active surges, and overhauled advisory panels. The administration has also proposed reallocating NIH medical research funds directly to the Pentagon, withheld $1 billion in Medicaid funding to California and Minnesota, and is restricting international visa-holding researchers. In an analysis of the toll of US aid cuts since 2025, The New York Times reported that 1,700 global HIV treatment sites have had to shut down. There is much more news below.
